The Batavia Varsity squad delivered an impressive 62-42 victory over Mount Healthy at home, improving their strong season record to 4-1. This commanding 20-point win showcased the team’s balanced offensive attack and ability to control the game from start to finish.

Batavia exploded out of the gates with a dominant first quarter performance, racing to a 10-0 lead behind early scoring from Carter Cope, Landon Larrison, and Logan Roller. Cope opened the scoring with a three-pointer, while Larrison added both a two-pointer and three-pointer to help establish the early advantage. Although Mount Healthy responded with a 6-point run to cut into the deficit, Batavia maintained control and took a 19-11 lead into the second quarter. The team continued to build their lead throughout the second quarter, with Ryan Brose contributing a crucial three-pointer as part of a strong stretch that extended the advantage to 36-19 at halftime.

The game remained competitive in the third quarter as Mount Healthy made several runs to try to get back in the game, including a 9-point scoring streak that brought them within 12 points. However, Batavia’s balanced scoring attack proved too much to handle, with Carson Harris getting hot from inside and helping maintain the comfortable lead heading into the final period. The fourth quarter saw Batavia put the game away for good, with Harris continuing his strong play and Carter Cope adding another three-pointer to seal the victory.

Individual performances were outstanding across the board for Batavia. Landon Larrison led all scorers with 12 points on efficient 5-of-10 shooting, including a three-pointer and clutch free throw. Carter Cope was perfect from beyond the arc, draining all three of his three-point attempts on his way to 11 points. Carson Harris dominated inside with 10 points on an impressive 5-of-6 field goal shooting, while Logan Roller also reached double figures with 10 points and perfect free throw shooting. Brett McKeon rounded out the balanced attack with 9 points, including solid free throw shooting down the stretch to help close out this impressive team victory.
