Batavia Varsity delivered a dominant 73-51 road victory over Wilmington, improving their impressive record to 5-1 on the season. The team showcased exceptional offensive efficiency and balanced scoring in what turned into a commanding performance away from home.

The tone was set early as Batavia exploded out of the gate with a blistering first quarter. After Wilmington briefly tied the game 2-2, Batavia unleashed a devastating 20-7 run to close the opening frame. Landon Larrison led the charge with 9 first-quarter points, including a three-pointer and four field goals (finishing 4-7 from the field with 1-2 from beyond the arc). The quarter featured contributions from multiple players, with Ryan Brose nailing a three-pointer as part of his perfect 3-3 shooting performance and Brett McKeon adding both a two-pointer and three-pointer.

Carson Harris took control in the second and third quarters, systematically building the lead with consistent scoring. Harris dominated the paint and free-throw line, ultimately leading all scorers with 23 points on efficient 9-16 shooting. His 8-point third quarter helped stretch the advantage to 54-39 entering the final frame. Brett McKeon provided excellent support throughout, finishing with 17 points on outstanding 6-10 field goal shooting and 2-4 from three-point range.

The fourth quarter belonged to Bryce Eads, who capped off the victory with a spectacular 6-point scoring streak that showcased his perfect shooting touch. Eads finished a flawless 4-4 from the field for 9 points, while the team’s depth was further demonstrated by Ryan Brose’s efficient 8-point contribution on perfect shooting. The balanced attack and strong team chemistry resulted in a convincing 22-point victory that highlighted Batavia’s potential for continued success this season.
