The game started with excellent energy as Landon Larrison opened the scoring with a three-pointer, but Western Brown quickly responded with their own hot streak. The visitors caught fire midway through the first quarter, going on an 11-point run to take a 16-13 lead. However, Batavia showed great character by battling back, with Brett McKeon leading the charge. McKeon caught fire late in the opening period, scoring 9 points during a crucial stretch that helped the team close the first quarter with a commanding 34-25 advantage.

Brett McKeon absolutely dominated the game, finishing with a spectacular 30-point performance on efficient 12-16 shooting from the field, including 3-4 from beyond the arc. His scoring bursts were crucial, particularly a 9-point streak to start the third quarter and another 9-point run in the fourth quarter that sealed the victory.
