After falling behind early, the team showcased their resilience and depth, with multiple players stepping up to contribute throughout all four quarters.

The game began with Western Brown jumping out to a 4-0 lead, but Batavia quickly found their rhythm in the first quarter. A crucial 6-0 run featuring baskets from Caleb Tobias and Makai Taylor gave Batavia their first lead at 5-4, and they never looked back. Liam Trent then took control, scoring back-to-back buckets followed by a Keitan Rekal three-pointer that sparked a commanding 14-point run, extending the lead to 19-6 by the end of the first quarter.

Western Brown mounted their strongest challenge in the second quarter with a 9-0 scoring streak that cut the deficit to just four points, but Batavia weathered the storm beautifully. The team responded with excellent free throw shooting from Ethan Becker and Makai Taylor, while Liam Trent capped off the half with a clutch three-pointer to maintain a comfortable 32-20 halftime advantage.

The second half belonged entirely to Batavia, as they controlled the tempo and extended their lead consistently.
