The Batavia JV squad delivered an impressive 53-38 home victory over Western Brown, improving their record to 3-2 in what proved to be a dominant team performance. After falling behind early, the team showcased their resilience and depth, with multiple players stepping up to contribute throughout all four quarters.

The game began with Western Brown jumping out to a 4-0 lead, but Batavia quickly found their rhythm in the first quarter. A crucial 6-0 run featuring baskets from Caleb Tobias and Makai Taylor gave Batavia their first lead at 5-4, and they never looked back. Liam Trent then took control, scoring back-to-back buckets followed by a Keitan Rekal three-pointer that sparked a commanding 14-point run, extending the lead to 19-6 by the end of the first quarter.

Western Brown mounted their strongest challenge in the second quarter with a 9-0 scoring streak that cut the deficit to just four points, but Batavia weathered the storm beautifully. The team responded with excellent free throw shooting from Ethan Becker and Makai Taylor, while Liam Trent capped off the half with a clutch three-pointer to maintain a comfortable 32-20 halftime advantage.

The second half belonged entirely to Batavia, as they controlled the tempo and extended their lead consistently. Liam Trent led all scorers with 15 points on efficient 6-13 shooting, including 2-6 from beyond the arc. Makai Taylor was fantastic at the free throw line, converting 8 of 9 attempts en route to 12 points, while Caleb Tobias added 10 points with aggressive drives to the basket. Keitan Rekal provided excellent outside shooting with 8 points, hitting 2-5 from three-point range, and Ethan Becker chipped in 5 solid points. The balanced scoring attack and strong team defense helped Batavia cruise to a well-earned 15-point victory.
