Batavia JV 2025-2026 bounced back in impressive fashion, dominating Clinton Massie 62-31 in an away game to improve their record to 1-2. The victory showcased the team’s offensive balance and strong defensive effort, as they controlled the game from start to finish after weathering an early challenge.
The game began with back-and-forth action in the first quarter, as Batavia jumped out to an early 4-0 lead on baskets by John McKeon and Caleb Tobias before Clinton Massie rallied to tie it 4-4. However, Jaylin Lowe took over late in the period, connecting on a three-pointer and adding another basket to help Batavia pull away. Despite Clinton Massie briefly taking a 16-15 lead on consecutive three-pointers, Lowe responded immediately with another score to reclaim the advantage, and Batavia led 19-16 after one quarter.
The second quarter belonged to Caleb Tobias, who erupted for 9 points in the period while the team built a commanding 42-21 halftime lead. Tobias was nearly unstoppable, going 6-15 from the field (40%) and 4-5 from the free-throw line (80%) to finish with a game-high 16 points. Lowe provided excellent support with 11 points on efficient 4-7 shooting, including a perfect 2-2 from three-point range and 1-1 from the line. Big Tone was exceptional off the bench, shooting 4-5 from the field (80%) and hitting his only three-point attempt for 9 points, while McKeon added 8 points on solid 4-8 shooting.
Batavia maintained their dominant play in the second half, stretching the lead to over 20 points and cruising to the convincing victory. The balanced scoring attack and strong team defense limited Clinton Massie to just 31 points, as multiple players contributed throughout the game. This comprehensive win should give the young squad tremendous confidence as they continue their season.
