The Batavia Freshman 2025-2026 team remained undefeated with an impressive 48-33 road victory over Finneytown, improving their perfect record to 9-0. The young squad demonstrated their championship potential with a dominant performance that saw them control the game from start to finish in enemy territory.
Batavia came out firing in the first quarter, establishing early momentum with a balanced offensive attack. Steele Peavely opened the scoring with a three-pointer, and after Finneytown briefly tied it 3-3, the team never looked back. Elijah Weisbrodt took over with back-to-back baskets and a free throw, while Tyson Eads and Eli Beasley added scores to fuel a spectacular 10-0 run that gave Batavia a commanding 13-3 lead. The quarter ended with Batavia ahead 19-5, setting the tone for the entire contest.
The second and third quarters showcased the team’s depth and offensive versatility. Weisbrodt continued his stellar performance, finishing with a game-high 13 points on efficient 6-of-11 shooting. The third quarter belonged to the supporting cast, as Greyson Kern sparked a decisive run with a three-pointer, followed by consecutive three-pointers from Peavely and Eads. This explosive 11-0 stretch extended Batavia’s lead to 39-16, effectively putting the game out of reach.
Individual performances highlighted the team’s balanced scoring attack. Peavely contributed 11 points with two three-pointers, while Eads added 9 points on perfect shooting from beyond the arc (1-for-1). Kern chipped in 6 points with clutch shooting, and even Beasley made his mark with a first-quarter three-pointer. Despite Finneytown’s late fourth-quarter surge that produced consecutive scoring runs of 6 and 8 points, Batavia’s early dominance and steady play throughout secured another convincing victory in their undefeated season.
