The game got off to a competitive start with both teams trading baskets and the lead changing hands three times in the opening quarter. After Western Brown grabbed an early 3-1 advantage, the Batavia freshman responded with determination. Elijah Weisbrodt led the first-quarter charge with 5 points, including back-to-back field goals that helped establish a 9-5 lead. Eli Beasley provided a spark off the bench with a crucial three-pointer, and the team closed the quarter ahead 12-10.

Steele Peavely took over in the second quarter, erupting for 6 points on three consecutive field goals to help extend the lead.
