Batavia JV dominated on the road, cruising to an impressive 48-23 victory over Finneytown to improve their record to 6-4. The team showcased exceptional balance and depth throughout the contest, with five different players contributing 7 or more points in a complete team effort that never allowed the home team to find their rhythm.

The game began with Batavia establishing early control as Makai Taylor and Keitan Rekal opened the scoring with back-to-back field goals for a quick 4-0 lead. Although Finneytown briefly grabbed a 5-4 advantage with a three-pointer, Batavia responded immediately and never trailed again. Taylor tied it at 5-5 from the free throw line, then John McKeon and Rekal extended the lead to 10-5, with Rekal’s three-pointer capping a strong first quarter where he led all scorers with 5 points.

Batavia pulled away decisively in the second quarter behind a stellar performance from Steele Peavely, who was perfect from the field going 2-2 including a three-pointer and added two free throws for 5 points in the period. The team’s balanced attack continued as Taylor added another basket and Elijah Weisbrodt chipped in to help build a commanding 25-7 halftime lead. The impressive offensive efficiency was highlighted by several players shooting at exceptional rates, including Taylor’s perfect 3-3 from the field and Peavely’s flawless shooting performance.

The third quarter saw Batavia maintain their dominance while giving valuable playing time to their entire roster. Ethan Becker was outstanding at the free throw line, going a perfect 4-4 to finish with 8 points, matching McKeon for the team lead. McKeon displayed great consistency throughout, shooting an efficient 4-7 from the field for his 8 points.
